Large reddish-brown cockroach with yellow stripes on the back of the head. Usually outdoor, comes inside through gaps, drains, and roof voids during heavy rain. Our most common SE QLD cockroach by a long way. Handles standard Annual Guardian or 360° Ultimate treatment well.
American cockroach (Periplaneta americana)
The big one. Up to 4cm long, reddish-brown, lives mainly in drains, stormwater pits, and subfloors. Often called “tree roaches” by Gold Coast locals. They fly short distances which makes them feel terrifying when they appear inside, but they respond very well to a perimeter spray plus drain treatment.
German cockroach (Blattella germanica)
The serious one. Small, 12 to 15mm, pale brown with two dark stripes behind the head. Lives indoors only. Breeds in kitchens, behind dishwashers, inside microwave casings, under fridges. A German cockroach infestation needs targeted gel bait and growth regulator treatment. Standard sprays make it worse by scattering colonies into new wall cavities. Brown-banded cockroach (Supella longipalpa)
Less common but on the rise in air-conditioned SE QLD homes. Smaller than American, with two pale bands across the wings. Needs targeted spray and bait, not perimeter treatment, because they avoid floor-level zones.

How long does a cockroach treatment take?
Most cockroach treatments take 45 to 90 minutes for a standard Gold Coast home. The exact time depends on property size, the level of activity we find, and how many harbourage zones need to be targeted. A roof void inspection and bait placement adds about 20 minutes. We never rush. The job is done when the job is done.
Are the products you use safe for pets and children?
Yes. We use professional low-toxicity formulations applied to Australian Standards. Once the product is dry (usually within 30 to 60 minutes) your home is safe for kids and pets to walk on, sit on, and play around. We use gel baits in cupboards instead of sprays anywhere food prep happens. If you have fish tanks, frogs, or sensitive reptiles, let us know at booking so we can adjust the plan.
How quickly will I stop seeing cockroaches?
You will usually see a spike in activity in the first 24 to 72 hours after treatment. This is a good sign. The product is flushing cockroaches out of wall cavities and roof voids where they hide. Activity drops sharply by day 7. Full colony elimination, including the egg cases laid before treatment, takes around 14 to 21 days as the next generation hatches into the residual product.
Do you treat German cockroaches?
Yes. German cockroaches need a different approach to the larger Australian and American cockroaches. The standard pest treatment will not eliminate a German cockroach infestation on its own.
