German cockroaches are tough. They breed fast, spread quickly, and love to hide in the smallest, hardest-to-reach places. A proper treatment can stop them in their tracks, but preparation is absolutely critical to getting the job done right.
1. Empty All Cupboards, Drawers, and Shelves in the Affected Areas
This includes the kitchen, pantry, bathroom, laundry, or anywhere you’ve seen signs of activity.
Everything needs to come out — food, plates, containers, utensils, cleaning products, and anything else stored inside. We need full access to treat inside, underneath, and behind all of these spaces.
2. Clean and Disinfect All Surfaces
Once you’ve emptied your cupboards and drawers, give everything a proper clean. Wipe away grease, crumbs, spills, or anything that might attract pests. German cockroaches thrive in dirty, undisturbed areas. A clean surface means our treatment goes further and works faster.
3. Clear Floor Space
Move bins, boxes, pet bowls, and anything else that might block our access. The more open and accessible the area, the more thorough we can be.
4. Let Us Know About Pets, Fish, or Reptiles
If you have any aquariums or enclosures, please let us know in writing beforehand. They may need to be covered or relocated temporarily during the treatment.
5. Avoid Using Pesticide Sprays Before the Visit
Please don’t use bug spray or harsh chemical cleaners in the days leading up to your appointment. These can interfere with our professional-grade treatments and reduce their effectiveness.
German cockroach infestations are serious, but with the right preparation and a professional treatment, they’re also fixable. If you’re unsure about what needs to be cleared or cleaned, just give us a call before your appointment.
Getting this right on the first visit saves time, money, and stress. We’re here to help.
