Thanks for choosing Pesties.au. Here’s what you can expect in the days and weeks following your treatment, and a few tips to make sure you get the best results possible.

Immediate Results

Within the first 24 to 48 hours, you’ll likely notice a sharp drop in visible pests. This is the first sign the treatment is working. You may also see cockroaches or other pests emerging from their hiding spots and dying. That’s perfectly normal.

Delayed Full Effect

Many of the products we use have a transfer effect, which means pests carry the treatment back to their nest or colony. This process takes time. Full results are often seen four to six weeks after the initial visit.

This is why we don’t offer service calls in the first six weeks. The treatment needs time to reach its full effectiveness. If you’re still seeing signs of internal breeding activity after that point, like baby cockroaches or concentrated indoor sightings, reach out and we’ll help assess the situation.

For Ant Treatments: Expect a Surge

When treating ants, especially with fipronil-based products, you might actually see a temporary increase in activity. As the colony breaks down, ants can appear in large numbers or group together. This reaction is normal and usually short-lived.

Cleaning After Treatment

Avoid mopping or scrubbing treated areas indoors for five to seven days. This includes skirting boards and other areas where product has been applied. The longer the treatment stays in place, the more effective it will be.

Seeing Pests After Treatment

It’s normal to still see some pests after treatment, even weeks later. That’s because no product can stop a cockroach or ant from entering your home. What matters is whether they’re breeding inside. If you notice baby cockroaches or suspect nesting activity after the six-week mark, get in touch.
